  • I'm not sure if diving is for me, but i would like to try. Can I try scuba diving without signing up for the full course?
    If you are not sure about taking the full course or are thinking of giving someone the gift of SCUBA , then the Discover SCUBA course is perfect. For a small fee you can get into some shallow water with an instructor and cover the basics of diving and see if this sport is right for you. If you do decide to sign up for the Open Water Course, the Discover SCUBA fee is deducted from the cost of the Open Water Course.
  • How old do you have to be to get certified as an Open Water Diver?
    10 years old is the minimum age to begin the open water diver course. The course for young divers is the same as for adults, so its best for the parents to decide if they think their child is mature enough to comprehend the course material.
  • How long does it take to get open water certified?
    The open water program is broken into 3 parts. 1. E-Learning: This is an at home, at your pace section. Most people finish this portion in about 20 hrs. 2. Confined water: You will need 5 sessions of confined water training. Depending on your time and schedule it can be done in either 2 or 3 days. 3. Open Water: Finally, you will Complete 4 open water dives. These are usually done in 2 days, doubling up sessions to do 2 dives in one day.
  • Do PADI certifications expire?
    No. PADI certifications are good for life, however, if it has been more than a year since your last dive, it is highly recommended that you do a refresher with an instructor before your next dive.
  • Do I have purchase equipment for the open water diver course?
    All equipment is provided for the open water course. It is recommended that students purchase their own mask and snorkel for the course. Drysuits can be added to the course for an additional fee. The fee also includes a drysuit certification at the end of the open water training.
  • Are the class schedules flexible?
    Absolutely! Our classes are built around your schedule. You book the dates that work best for you, and we do our best to make it work. We book all our dates on a first come, first serve basis.
  • I've completed my dive course but don't have a buddy to dive with, How can I find a dive buddy in the Okanagan?
    There are a lot of active divers in the Okanagan. You can join Facebook groups to help you find a buddy or see where groups are planning their next dive. Stay up to date, and join us on our planned dive adventures, this is a great place to meet some of your fellow divers, and maybe make some new life long friends. We also provide guided dives with an instructor if you are looking to get out and log some hours.
